Job Description:

Gipsy Hill Federation is an ambitious, values-driven family of primary schools focussed on community transformation and providing children and families with life-changing educational opportunities. We strive to provide our children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, with the best of both worlds,: the resilience, continuity and educational best practice of a highly collaborative and dynamic Federation, and the warmth, personality and distinctive identity of a local community school.

This is a great place to work. We have very high expectations for all members of our school community, recognising the potential of every individual, positively addressing underachievement and working hard to remove barriers to achievement and raise esteem.

For this key Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion/SENCO) post you will need to be a qualified teacher with at least two years’ classroom teaching experience and have a sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, either holding a National Award for SEN Co-ordination or be working towards gaining it.

We’re looking for an Assistant Headteacher (SENCO) who:

  • Is an inspirational teacher and can bring commitment, enthusiasm and energy to this post
  • Is generous with their time because they want the very best outcomes for pupils
  • Is ambitious and determined to be the best they can be in whatever direction they want their career to go – we provide the opportunities and welcome ambition
  • Wants to be professionally respected, well supported and developed
  • Is creative, can think ‘out of the box’ and contribute to our vision
  • Is someone who sees solutions rather than problems and embraces teamwork.

We offer high-quality internal training for all staff, including mentoring and coaching for new SENCOs.

Additionally, we provide training to enhance their role, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, resources, and attributes for success.
