Wyvil Primary School is an exciting and innovative school situated in the centre of London, based across three buildings. We have two mainstream sites with integrated resource base classes for children with Autism and Speech and Language needs, and an Autism Resource Base in Kennington.
We are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated teacher with proven leadership and SEND experience who wishes to further develop their leadership journey.
As a leader, you will:
- Model best teaching and learning practice for children with SEND, particularly Autism and Speech and Language, in both your own class and classes across the Resource Base;
- Drive strategic change by being forward thinking, reflective and aspirational;
- Have a holistic approach to learning to enable all children to make demonstrable progress in both academic learning and Personal, Social and Emotional development;
- Have consistently high expectations of yourself and others so that behaviour, inclusivity and children’s learning are of the highest standard;
- Lead a strategic area across the Resource Base, such as curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning;
- Take leadership responsibility when other senior leaders are off site;
- Design and deliver meetings and training for staff and hold all staff to account;
- Understand how to support children in the early stages of communication effectively (e.g. PECS, Widgit Online, Intensive Interaction, ALD devices)
- Implement and review strategies to support children’s educational health care plans
- Be prepared to work flexibly as part of a collaborative partnership.
