Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction is a statutory period post-ITT (two years for a full-time
teacher; longer if part-time) that all teachers gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) must
undertake – a period of training, guidance, monitoring, assessment and support, designed to help you through the first part of your teaching career.
Lambeth has around 180 teachers undertaking induction in our schools at any time, all of whom
have access to high-quality support from those working with them in schools and also from those working within Lambeth's specialist teams.

Lambeth is working in partnership with the London South Teaching School Hub to deliver a Full
training programme to meet the requirements of the Early Career Framework (ECF), making use of the expertise we have within Lambeth to not only deliver the training, but to deliver in in a way that is relevant to Lambeth teachers.

Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) induction is a statutory period post-ITT (one year for a full-time teacher; longer if part-time) that all teachers gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) must undertake – a period of training, guidance, monitoring, assessment and support, designed to help you through the first part of your teaching career.
Lambeth has around 200 NQTs in our schools at any time, all of whom have access to high-quality support from those working with them in schools and also from those working within Lambeth's specialist teams.

We have a well-established and comprehensive NQT programme that will enable you to develop your skills and confidence in the classroom.
We also have extensive training programmes offered by our teaching schools for your ongoing career development.
