Job Description:

Woodmansterne School & Sixth Form is set within a diverse and vibrant community; as a school we benefit from this rich variety of cultures and traditions which form the bedrock of our inclusive ethos. We are looking to employ exceptional staff who share our values and determination to provide Woodmansterne School & Sixth Form pupils with a first-class education that enables them to thrive and succeed in their learning and life.

Working at Woodmansterne is never dull. Creative ideas are listened to and considered and challenge is encouraged. Staff here are keen and confident to go the extra mile, knowing that their input is valued and respected.  Woodmansterne is a special place, ask anyone who has walked through our doors, the learning environment is calm and enriched; pupils, staff and parents are happy.
Our goal is simple, to ‘achieve excellence together’.  We do this by supporting each other and having a relentless focus on inspiring our young people (and each other) to be the very best version of themselves that they can be.
Working closely across primary and secondary phases has ensured cohesion between staff, a greater understanding of effective transition and how children learn and flourish. As a community, we embrace opportunities to learn from each other, rise to challenges and overcome obstacles.

We are looking for an excellent music practitioner with:

  • a proven track record in raising pupil attainment at GCSE (OCR experience preferable but not essential);
  • experience of or a willingness to manage peripatetic staff;
  • an understanding of how children learn and the complexities of this process;
  • the skills to work successfully as part of a team;
  • experience of working effectively and in collaboration with colleagues, parents, pupils and the school community;
  • strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude;
  • knowledge of relevant developments and innovations in the use of music to enhance teaching and learning;
  • the ability to be kind, positive and committed to the school’s inclusive ethos;
  • the ability to be flexible, calm, work under pressure and manage change effectively.

Our strong and experienced leadership team are committed to providing an exceptional and enriching education for all our young people.
