Hitherfield Primary School and Children’s Centre

Leigham Vale, London SW16 2JQ

Hitherfield is a three-form entry Primary School, Nursery and Children’s Centre located between Tulse Hill and Streatham Hill, with excellent transport links into central London and to neighbouring boroughs. Hitherfield has been educating the community for over 120 years and is an excellent, high achieving school with motivated staff, children and parents. We are an extremely popular, over subscribed school.

The school has undergone modernisation over the last 10 years and, in addition to beautifully designed Victorian and Edwardian buildings it has modern, newly built classrooms, staff facilities and information technology. We have three halls, expansive playgrounds, a nature area and our edible playground, where the children grow a range of fruit and vegetables.

Our vision is to create a school community where everyone feels valued, has the opportunity to explore, develop their strengths and participate in new experiences. Our aim is to be an inspirational school creating good people in an atmosphere that promotes confidence, high academic achievement, physical health and emotional well-being.

We invest in the collective professional development of all staff in order to make us the best educators we can be. Hitherfield is a forward thinking school and we use research from around the world to inform our decisions. We have staff who came to the school as children themselves and staff who have developed from teaching assistants to teachers to middle and senior leaders.

If you want to start or develop your career at a successful, supportive, popular and friendly school – Hitherfield is the obvious choice.
