We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about their subject, someone who will excite and engage pupils in their learning and lay strong foundations for success in the next stage of their journey. Our pupils are happy, confident young people, it’s our responsibility to see they are given the knowledge, skills and opportunities to excel.
Purpose of Post
- To be an effective and reflective classroom teacher able to demonstrate and share good practice.
- To plan and prepare lessons with regard to individual need, with reference to school policies, national requirements and local policies.
- To contribute to the development of an exciting secondary curriculum to fully engage pupils in the learning of English in order to secure outstanding progress for every child.
- To support the governors and leadership team in attaining aims and objectives of the school improvement plan in order to secure the best outcomes for pupils.
We are looking for an excellent Teacher of English (Secondary) with:
- experience of teaching at KS4 and possibly KS5;
- very high expectations of what can be achieved;
- a proven track record in raising pupil attainment;
- an understanding of how children learn and the complexities of this process;
- the aspiration to work with young people, colleagues and parents;
- the skills to work successfully as a team member establishing effective working relationships and flexible working practices;
- the experience of following direction and working in collaboration with colleagues, parents, pupils and the school community;
- integrity and strong interpersonal skills;
- a creative, innovative and “can do” approach to school improvement;
- the ability to lead on the educational progress, achievement and enrichment experience (including trips, rewards and clubs) of the pupils they are responsible for.
