Job Description:

The WCL Federation is a diverse and vibrant community; we benefit from a rich variety of cultures and traditions. The federation is made up of Woodmansterne School & Sixth Form and Crown Lane Primary School. As a new federation, we are looking to extend our team and employ exceptional staff who share our values and determination to ensure that WCL  pupils receive an excellent, inclusive education.

We are looking for a SEND Teacher to join the WCL Federation.

Our federation vision is to create an excellent and inclusive school community where children thrive and strive to become the best version of themselves. Staff and governors are united in their passion and commitment to ensuring our pupils are given the opportunities, motivation and direction they need in order to succeed. Our pupils are happy and confident young people, who are proud of their achievements and want to excel.

We are looking for an excellent SEND Teacher with:

  • Proven successful teaching and achievement of outstanding pupil progress
  • Experience of successful leadership skills or evidence of developing leadership skills at a primary, secondary or all-through school within a multicultural community
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation – in particular of the SEN Code of Practice, equal opportunities and disability discrimination and how these apply to pupils with EHCPs
  • Experience of applying interventions appropriately
  • Proven ability to work with a range of outside agencies in order to secure progress for SEND pupils
  • Some knowledge of specialist assessments and interventions
  • Some experience of developing and maintaining positive & effective relationships with members of the diverse school community, Governing Body, LA, and other organisations that has improved academic and social outcomes for all pupils
  • Experience in the principles of quality learning, teaching and assessment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

The successful applicant will work across both schools, so the ability to move between sites is essential.
