Job Description:

Kingswood Primary School is seeking an exceptional Headteacher to lead our inclusive, vibrant and ambitious school community from January 2027.

Located at the heart of our local community in Lambeth, Kingswood is a school where Kindness, Resilience, Empathy and Respect are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of our warm, nurturing and inclusive ethos and are committed to ensuring that every child is known, supported and challenged to achieve their very best.

Our vision is to develop creative, confident and curious children who leave Kingswood with strong foundations for the future, a love of learning and the confidence to play an active role in their communities. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced school leader to build on Kingswood’s strengths and lead the school through its next phase of development.

We are looking for a Headteacher who will combine strategic ambition with warmth, visibility and strong relationships. You will provide clear, values-led leadership and work closely with staff, pupils, parents, governors, Lambeth Council and the wider community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Articulate a compelling vision and clear strategic direction for the school.
  • Lead with integrity, resilience, creativity and a strong moral purpose.
  • Secure high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour and pupil achievement.
  • Champion an ambitious, broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum.
  • Ensure every child, including those with SEND and additional needs, can thrive and achieve.
  • Build a positive culture in which staff feel supported, valued, challenged and empowered to develop.
  • Develop leadership capacity and promote high-quality professional development.
  • Work effectively with governors and provide clear, accurate information to support effective governance and accountability.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers and the wider community.
  • Ensure safeguarding and the welfare of children remain at the heart of school life.
